The power of visualization, is it real?
Whenever I asked the question about the power of visualization. I get answers from both sides of the fence.
Some people ardently believe, some people don't and a third group isn't sure.
What exactly is the power of visualization?
Visualization is different than affirmations.
Many people believe saying affirmations is all they need to do to create their successes in life.
I'm not a big believer in all that happy, motivational crap.
I've never seen it work. But I've seen a lot of unhappy people chanting “I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy”, as it tears flow down their cheeks.
The power of visualization involves more than your voice. It is total involvement of all your senses. It is a commitment.
Is the power of visualization proven
Recent studies involving brain imagery say that when we visualize an action it is equal to actually doing that action. Visualization creates an electrical impulse in our brain that performs the action.
Visualization has proven to be effective in:
- Weight Loss
Six important benefits of positive visualization

The power of visualization has worked for me.
When I was paralyzed from a stroke. The rehabilitation doctors asked me what were my goals from rehab.
I told him I had two goals: 1. Was to return to work. And 2. Was ride my Harley. Those were my two consuming goals.
The doctors shook their heads and said: “we'll see.”
Those goals were what I focused my mind on. A return to those activities was foremost in my thoughts.
I pictured myself walking.
Even when the physical therapist said I walked like a monster. I pictured myself walking normally.
Those thoughts were never far away.
Visualization made the struggle easier and after three months not only did I walk like everyone else but I regained full use of my hand.
The therapist told me that the brain can develop new pathways for the neurons. I credit visualization with my recovery.
After being released from rehabilitation I returned to work, full time.
I even rode my Harley.
Okay, maybe that was a coincidence.
I don't think so and here's why…
When my employer went bankrupt. I wasn't sure what I would do. I saw an email advertisement that talked about drop shipping. I had no clue what drop shipping was. I invested my last $20
I began dropshipping on eBay.
I wasn't making any sales.
